Alagna in winter

In winter Alagna is like a fairytale village; its ancient hamlets with their beautiful walser farmhouses covered in snow take you into another dimension of time.

But Alagna is also a modern ski resort. With the new cable car linking Pianalunga to the Salati Pass Alagna is now an integral part of the MONTEROSA SKI area which links Alagna, Gressoney and Champoluc in Val d'Aosta, with a total of 180 km of pistes of which 80 have programmed snow facilities.

Ski runs over three valleys and for all levels of skiers against the magnificent backdrop of Monte Rosa and the Matterhorn, so you can ski on different pistes all day long.

Alagna is famous worldwide as a freeride paradise offering a wide variety of itineraries some of which are extremely challenging.

The lifts take you up to the glaciers of Punta Indren at 3260 m. and from there you can either ski on groomed pistes or else venture of on to the legendary off-piste itineraries through the fresh snow.

Our Alpine Guides can help you discover the most fascinating, snow-filled spots of Monte Rosa in complete safety, guaranteeing you excitement-filled days of intense skiing.
